Lace Love Fest

Mystic Light Shawl KAL knit with Claudia Handpaints.  Love the shawl, not so crazy about colorful lace.  It will get finished and worn but I will move to solids and semisolids for lace from now on.

New yarn and more lace - Pele by Elsbeth Lavold is the name of this lacy tank.  The yarn is her new Bambocle.  I'm loving it and it is working up quickly.

And, finally, Munchkin found an empty knitting bag and decided to take a nap - cats, what's not to love??????

Old Cat Learns New Trick

After much gnashing of teeth, protesting, screaming, crying, etc. I think I may be a magic loop sock convert. This old cat may have really learned something new and I have Doris II to thank for it. Doris knows who she is and will take public credit for this when the time is right. This is the first toe up sock that I have enjoyed making and I actually don't want to put it down. Amazing. The yarn is Online in a colorway from last year; needles are Addi lace in a 32" #1.

This crocheted tank is one of 2 FOs I get to brag about. The pattern is a Fiber Trends and is quite easy. I enjoyed making it but next time need to be careful about the armholes - they are a bit large so I'll add a single crochet trim so no one gets a glimpse of my undergarments - that is never a good look. The yarn, Sonora by Nashua, is a linen/silk blend with quite a bit of texture. I loved working with it and am looking forward to wearing it.

This is a huge TA DA moment - my brother's socks which took me 2 years to the week to complete. The yarn is Fleece Artist in Mineral and the pattern is a simple 2x2 rib with a
stockinette foot. Between the new sock technique and this finished pair I'm rockin with the socks again!

Happy Birthday Yarntopia

Amy and I are so proud that our "baby" is 2 years old.  Most business experts agree that the first 2 years of a business are the most difficult.  While we certainly can't rest on our laurels, we now breathe a little easier while looking ahead to many more years of yarn, friendship and fun.

Meet Ewie & Blanche's newest friends - Thanks Marti & Lani!

We have the most talented and kind customers - Rhonda made this adorable wreath embellished with knitted and crocheted flowers.
Thanks for your creativity and thoughtfulness!

As we constantly evaluate our yarn lines, listening to you as we consider new products, more than anything else we want to continue to make Yarntopia the place where anyone can belong and find a soft place to fall when the world beats them up.  We must sell products to pay the bills and fiber is our #1 love - but we believe, and you all have confirmed, that Yarntopia represents much more than just knitting or crochet.  Thank you to all our loyal customers we look forward to many years of "serving up yarn dreams."
