What's Been Going On?

I am a grandmother again. Shorts is the proud big sister and little SG is an adorable addition to the family. I feel as though I've been living in a fog for the month of May.

I have frogged and reworked Silk Garden yet again. I simplified the stitch pattern for sizing and think I have finally solved the glitches in the pattern. I want to wear it to Columbus next week so I have to get busy.

I'm off to blog for Yarntopia, so check that out and I promise to post pictures of crochet soon.

New Ideas, Old Ideas, and Lots of UFOs

I realized yesterday that TNNA is quickly approaching and I haven't gotten a wardrobe together for our 2 days in Columbus. Since really getting into garment design I am having a hard time following others directions. This really isn't new - I have always preferred doing my own thing rather than following someone else's lead. I just haven't been disciplined enough to take the necessary steps to be successful. I am now working on that self discipline. I really want to wear my own creations to the show.

I am still working on Silk Garden II. I hope to have it finished soon and then pictures and pattern will be available.

I am also working on a top using Louisa Harding's Flotsam. I love this yarn and after Amy finished a pattern from Louisa's collection I decided I wanted to crochet something. I am calling it "Flash" and you will soon understand why.

Currently on the hook:

1. Baby blanket for SG

2. Silk Garden

3. Flash

4. Unnamed design that will be used for teaching at Yarntopia. It is a sleeveless top worked in a unique way to make it easy to get the exact fit around the torso one would want - slim fit to loose fit. Stay tuned for details and a Hip Cat pattern!

5. Candice - French Girl skirt that Amy are doing together for France

6. Doily cardigan from Interweave crochet for France

We are going on the road this weekend to visit my mom with Shorts so I hope to finish #1 on the trip. I will also take Flash with me as it is a fast crochet and could actually finish it too!

Have a great weekend...get hooked on crochet today!
